CottonSoft, Inc. is an independent software company focusing on office productivity. Our flagship product is the Floor Time Scheduling System that schedules one month of staff assignments according to shifts and scheduling rules assigned by the user. Most installations are in residential real estate offices scheduling agents for floor or duty time, though we also have installations in other types of businesses. For example, one of our customers is a regional hospital scheduling volunteers for service times and another is a church also scheduling volunteers.

Our software is written for Windows 95 thru Windows 8 operating systems. It is easy to learn and use and comes with a printed reference manual and online help tied to the screen you are viewing when you ask for help. We also provide free user support via fax, email, and phone.

Our business history
CottonSoft, Inc. has been operating since 1992. The company was founded by Dr. Ira Cotton, a computer consultant, and his wife Marcy Cotton, then a licensed real estate agent.

At that time, Marcy's office scheduled agents without regard to their individual needs or preferences. This led to an office-wide assignment trading session once the schedule was published. Ira believed there was a better way and wrote a QBasic program to do the scheduling. Marcy's company licensed the first 100 copies and still uses it. The program, originally written for a DOS environment, was rewritten in Visual Basic for Windows and enjoys a substantial user base around the country.

Note: We were founded in Rockville, Maryland, and manuals and software sold at that time contain that address. In 1995 we relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, and again in 2013 to Naples, Florida, where we continue to operate today.
